Spring has sprung in Thompsonville, and the Thompsonville Area Revitalization Project (TARP) has been busy making our downtown area blossom! Let’s take a look back at the recent clean-up initiatives and how you can get involved in future projects.

Volunteers help clear Thompsonville's flower beds for summer blooms.

Planting the Seeds of Change

The TARP Beautification Committee began with a flower bed clean-up day in late May. With the help of dedicated volunteers, they cleared away winter debris and prepped the soil for the vibrant flowers that would soon arrive, donated by Crystal Mountain. Following the clean-up, the community came together again for a flower planting day in early June. They transformed 26 squares along Thompson Avenue, but also planted several large planters and window boxes.

Spreading Beauty Beyond Downtown

TARP volunteers haven’t just been busy downtown! They’ve also been working hard to enhance the natural beauty of the Webber Sports Complex. By donating and planting native perennials and grasses, they’ve created an environment that will not only look beautiful but will create a more naturalized space over the years.
