In 2022 TARP was the grateful recipient of a $15,000 grant from the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation, to be used as TARP saw fit in pursuit of its goal of completing the Thompsonville Junction Trailhead, Visitor’s Center, and Campground Improvements. In the spring of 2023 TARP was asked by the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation to participate in the creation of a short video highlighting TARP and the assistance it has received from GTRCF. The video was filmed on June 5, 2023, and released to the public on September 14, 2023, at the Foundation’s Impact
Gathering held in Traverse City at the new home of the Grand Traverse Regional Conservancy.
As the Design and Engineering study for the TARP project is nearing completion, the TARP board has begun the process of planning a Capital Campaign to raise the necessary funds for the project. This video is a brief but compelling reminder of the challenges ahead; however, it also offers a vision of what can be achieved if the project is successfully completed. The support of the entire Thompsonville Area Community is paramount to assuring the long-term success of the project. All Aboard!
