Exciting momentum continues across our project sites this month! Here is the latest update on our ongoing facility improvements and campground expansion.
Interior & Exterior Construction Progress
- Painting Underway: Lange’s Painting and Wall Covering is currently on site applying the primer and sealer coat to the interior concrete block walls. Once primed, each bathroom and shower unit will feature a light gray finish across three walls, complemented by an olive green accent wall.
- Carpentry & Mechanical: Following recent weather-related delays, the KSB carpentry crew will return to the site next week to wrap up the exterior siding. The Moore Mechanical team will also be back on site next week to resume their scope of work.
- Electrical & Security: Isenhart Electric is making great progress on interior wiring. They are currently pulling CAT6 ethernet cables to support five exterior security cameras around the facility.
Phase 2: Campground Renovation Begins
We officially signed a contract today with Burdco, Inc. to launch Phase 2 (Campground Renovation)! Keep an eye out for AJ’s Excavating returning to the site soon to begin earthmoving operations in the campground area.
Major Grant Announcement: Universal Accessibility at the Caboose
On September 3, 2026, TARP was awarded a generous $50,000 grant from the Herbert H. and Barbara C. Dow Foundation in Frankfort, Michigan.
These dedicated funds will allow TARP to complete all necessary upgrades to provide full, universal accessibility around the Thompsonville Junction Caboose. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Foundation for their incredible support of our community’s vision!
