An informational meeting of the TARP beautification committee was held on August 18 with 20 area residents in attendance. Volunteers from TARP and the surrounding community planted flowers in 26 3ft by 3ft sidewalk squares in June of this year. A beautification committee is being formed to help with the weekly watering, fertilizing, and weeding of the floral squares. Thanks to the village of Thompsonville, a golf cart with a 55 gallon tank attached has been used to water the sidewalk squares. The water tank system allows volunteers to fill individual watering cans and efficiently water the squares. Volunteers are receiving many thanks from residents as they drive down Thompson Avenue and see the work being done to beautify the streetscape. The committee will meet again in the fall to determine plantings for next year.
